Neighborhood Food Tours in Madrid
We believe the best way to get to know a city is by walking its streets and eating its food. Let us introduce you to Madrid’s neighborhoods and the people keeping its culinary traditions alive.
Our tours are built around ethical, sustainable tourism. We are a Spanish company based in Madrid, and we work only with locally owned and family-run businesses. When you walk and eat with us, every bite supports the culture and community that make this city special.
Why Neighborhoods?
The soul of Madrid is in its neighborhoods. Beyond the famous streets and plazas are the markets, tapas bars, and hidden corners where local life really happens.
We work with passionate artisans, chefs, and shopkeepers to create authentic, behind-the-scenes experiences. You might meet Carlos, the market chef championing seasonal cooking, Jesús sharing the ritual of the aperitivo, Pedro with his exceptional tomatoes, or Ana hand-carving Iberian ham with generational skill.
By choosing our tours, you’re helping sustain the traditions, flavors, and families that define Madrid.

Absolutely! Madrid’s food culture is a huge part of the city’s identity. A food tour gives you insider access to dishes, stories, and traditions you might miss on your own — all while exploring the city’s beautiful neighborhoods.
While a tapas tour may be a bit pricier than dinner at a single restaurant, our tours unlock the unwritten rules of doing tapas in Madrid so you’ll know how and where to eat for the rest of your trip. Our food tours also allow you to try a wide variety of dishes and drinks. For example, our De Tapas in Malasaña: Evening Wine and Tapas Tour includes 5 unique Spanish drinks as well as 9 different tapas!

Yes! We work closely with our restaurant partners and chefs to ensure that our tours are safe and delicious for everyone! All of our tours are perfectly adaptable to guests following vegetarian, gluten-free, pork-free and/or shellfish-free diets. Our tours are also suitable for guests with celiac disease as we have created specific protocols to avoid cross-contamination on each tour.
If you follow a vegan diet, we have two experiences that are best adaptable for vegan guests:
De Mercados: Neighborhood Market and Food Tour which is available as a public tour where you’ll join up to a maximum of 8 guests.
De Historia in La Latina: Madrid Paella, History and Tapas Tour which features an incredible vegan paella as well as tastings of seasonal produce in a century-old market and one of the most famous vegan tapas in Madrid! This experience is available only as a private tour.
When booking your tour, there is a required question asking if you have any dietary restrictions. Please just let us know your preferences and any food allergies and we will adapt the menu as needed!

Madrid is extremely walkable, with compact neighborhoods, pedestrian-friendly streets, and plenty of sights close together. Yes — jeans are perfectly acceptable in Madrid! While it is true that people in Madrid tend to dress a bit more formally than in North America, you will often see people wearing jeans. When joining a food tour in Madrid, the most important thing to keep in mind outfit-wise is your footwear! All of our tours are walking tours that explore neighborhoods that are often paved with cobblestones. You want to make sure you’re comfortable for walking and eating!
