De TAPAS

An evening wine and tapas Experience

Tour Description

Make every bite count!

There are literally thousands of tapas bars in Madrid to choose from. But don’t worry! We’ve spent years eating and drinking at every tapas bar in Malasaña (it’s a hard life!) to find the most delicious, authentic tapas that this central Madrid neighborhood has to offer.

This Madrid tapas tour is a perfectly curated night on the town. You’ll visit four locally owned tapas bars and restaurants that epitomize the unique blend of modern and traditional that the Malasaña neighborhood is famous for.

Taste cured Iberian meats, the cheese board of your dreams, ugly croquetas (the best kind), perfectly prepared seasonal vegetables, the best huevos rotos in Madrid and so much more. If you travel for food, this experience was made for you!

Over the course of the evening, we’ll introduce you not only to some of the best food in Madrid but also to the people who make and serve it.

And as Spanish tradition dictates, we’ll pair each dish with its accompanying drink. From sparkling cava to robust red wine, you’ll taste the liquid heroes of tapas culture, all of which are of course made in Spain.

Includes

  • Spanish dinner as it should be: late-ish, spread across 4 bars/restaurants and utterly delicious.

  • Start the evening with a cava toast at a hole-in-the-wall charcuterie shop as you meet the owner and try some of the most celebrated products in Spain!

  • Get a crash course in Spanish wine (aka the best wine in the world, even if we are a bit biased)!

  • Taste the full range of Madrid tapas — from recipes that date back centuries to modern works of culinary art.

  • Discover the diverse world of essential tapas beverages: sparkling cava, sweet vermouth, the perfect caña of tap beer and, of course, Spanish wine!

  • Walk through two and a half centuries of Madrid history and get to know how it shaped the Malasaña neighborhood in to the trendy spot it is today.

  • Put your español to the test as you meet the people that keep Madrid’s tapas culture thriving.

  • Pepper us with all your Spain questions, pick up the local lingo and prepare yourself for food and wine bliss for the rest of your trip.

  • This experience includes an abundant dinner’s worth of tapas plus 5 glasses of wine (non-alcoholic drinks are also available).

Would highly recommend one of Margit’s tours to anyone visiting Madrid, even those who are frequent visitors. Margit shared the ‘soul’ of Madrid with us, taking us to those little hidden restaurant gems that you wouldn’t find unless you were a local.
