Madrid Paella, History and Tapas Tour

Tour Description

Coming this Spring!

Discover historic Madrid in the city’s oldest neighborhood, La Latina! From the century-old food market to the buzzing tapas bars, you’ll experience Old Madrid like a local. This daytime food tour checks all three boxes of history, tapas and the best paella in Madrid!

Begin the day as travelers did centuries ago, in a plaza that was just outside the ancient city walls. Learn how (and why!) Madrid was founded as you walk the streets that have been around since the city was first formed.

La Latina is synonymous with tapas and history! On this midday tour you’ll duck into historic tapas bars, meet the passionate people behind each bite and discover the history of Spain. Enjoy an epic Spanish lunch across 3 tasting stops featuring iconic foods like artisanal cheeses, local vermouth and seafood paella.

Throughout the day you’ll become a part of the historic La Latina neighborhood as you taste its authentic flavors and walk the hidden plazas and cobblestone streets where 500 years of history have shaped Madrid into the city it is today!

We couldn’t imagine a better introduction to Spain’s culinary treasures than spending the morning with our guide Isabella. She shared information not just about the food we were tasting but also how history, agriculture, culture, and economics shape that food and its future. We learned so much while also enjoying scrumptious, and new, flavors. We didn’t want the tour to end!
