Private Tour FAQs

  •  A private tour is the best way to enjoy a fully personalized experience. You’ll have your guide’s undivided attention, and the flexibility to focus on the foods or themes that interest you most!

    Our private tours are also available at more start times and can include a full meal or serve as a pre-meal or between-meal experience!

  • Public tours are small groups where you´ll likely share the experience with other visitors. We keep our public tour groups very small, with no more than 8 guests per tour.  We offer two public tours:

    1. De Mercados: A Neighborhood Market and Food Tour

    2. De Tapas: An Evening Wine and Tapas Tour

    Private tours are just for you and your family or group. Our private tours allow for a tailored pace, itinerary, and menu. Private tours are especially great for families traveling with young children or for couples or friends celebrating a birthday, anniversary or other milestone!

    Both public and private options include the same high-quality food tastings and expert guides.

  • Most private tours last around 2–4 hours. If you’d like a shorter or longer experience, we can adjust the itinerary to match your schedule!

  • Most private tours are booked 2-6 months in advance. We recommend booking no later than two weeks prior to the date you’d like to do the tour so we can secure reservations at our favorite restaurants and markets.

    However, if you’re planning last-minute, feel free to contact us. We’ll do our best to arrange a tour for you!

  • Yes. Private tours are ideal for guests with dietary requirements since we can adapt the tastings to suit vegetarians, celiacs, or those with other food allergies. Just let us know your needs when requesting your private tour and we’ll be sure to send you the tour options that visit stops with menus that fit with your dietary needs.

  • Absolutely! Private tours are a great option for families.

    We can adjust the pace, portion sizes, and even drink pairings to make the experience enjoyable for kids as well as adults. Depending on the age of the children, our private family tours can include treasure hunts, Spanish practice, coloring pages and playground breaks!

  • Our private tours are designed as walking experiences in central Madrid, where the streets and food stops are best explored on foot. If you’d like to arrange a pick-up from your hotel or accommodation, we can do that! Your guide can meet you at your accommodation and travel by hired car to the start of the tour. This hotel pick up option is only available for groups of 2-10 guests and only for private tours.
